About H&K

As a mechanical engineering student in Germany, artist Guenter Scholz demonstrated a love of metal creations, and could often be discovered crafting strange and unusual works of steel genius. In fact, he’s often credited as the original inventor of the “thingamawhatsit.”

Since 1997, Scholz has used his engineering know-how to design over 250 unique, handcrafted metal gifts as part of the H & K Sculptures and Wine Bottle Holders collection. These range from decorative metal art to functional corporate gifts, desk organizers, and housewares, all of which make creative and unique gifts for men and women.

H & K Steel Sculptures come in an assortment of designs and styles inspired by a wide variety of professions, interests, and lifestyles. Each H & K product is handcrafted by talented sculptors, and many of them are made of eco-friendly recycled steel and copper (the products, not the sculptors). Since they’re handmade, each H & K business card holder, wine holder, or other sculpture you purchase may contain minor changes that vary slightly from the image displayed on our site. Each sculpture possesses distinct markings inherent in the metals, making every product unique. They’re like snowflakes!
